माहात्म्यमस्य तीर्थस्य नाम चैवास्य कीदृशम् । कथयन्तु महाभागाः प्रसादः क्रियतां मम
māhātmyamasya tīrthasya nāma caivāsya kīdṛśam | kathayantu mahābhāgāḥ prasādaḥ kriyatāṃ mama
‘മഹാഭാഗന്മാരായ ഋഷിമാരേ! ഈ തീർത്ഥത്തിന്റെ മഹാത്മ്യവും ഇതിന്റെ നാമം എങ്ങനെയാണെന്നും കൃപചെയ്ത് പറയുക; എന്നോടു പ്രസന്നരായി വിശദീകരിക്കണമേ.’
