किमर्थं कम्पते शैलः किमर्थं कम्पते धरा । किमर्थं कम्पते नागो मर्त्यः पातालमेव च । किं वा युगक्षयो देव तन्ममाख्यातुमर्हसि
kimarthaṃ kampate śailaḥ kimarthaṃ kampate dharā | kimarthaṃ kampate nāgo martyaḥ pātālameva ca | kiṃ vā yugakṣayo deva tanmamākhyātumarhasi
ഈ പർവ്വതം എന്തുകൊണ്ട് കുലുങ്ങുന്നു? ഈ ഭൂമി എന്തുകൊണ്ട് വിറയ്ക്കുന്നു? നാഗന്മാരും മനുഷ്യരും പാതാളവും എന്തുകൊണ്ട് നടുങ്ങുന്നു? ഹേ ദേവാ, ഇതു യുഗക്ഷയമാണോ? ദയചെയ്ത് എനിക്കു പറഞ്ഞുതരണമേ.
