एतस्मिन्नन्धकः काले चिन्तयामास भारत । तोषयामि महादेवं येन सानुग्रहो भवेत्
etasminnandhakaḥ kāle cintayāmāsa bhārata | toṣayāmi mahādevaṃ yena sānugraho bhavet
അന്നേരത്ത്, ഹേ ഭാരത, അന്ധകൻ ചിന്തിച്ചു—“ഞാൻ മഹാദേവനെ തൃപ്തിപ്പെടുത്തും; അങ്ങനെ അദ്ദേഹം എനിക്കു അനുകമ്പയോടെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കും.”
