एवमुक्त्वा गता सा तु ब्राह्मणी नृपसत्तम । तथागतः स तु शिशुस्तत्र स्थित्वा मुहूर्तकम्
evamuktvā gatā sā tu brāhmaṇī nṛpasattama | tathāgataḥ sa tu śiśustatra sthitvā muhūrtakam
ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞ്, ഹേ നൃപശ്രേഷ്ഠാ, ആ ബ്രാഹ്മണീ പുറപ്പെട്ടു പോയി. അങ്ങനെ തന്നെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ട ആ ശിശു അവിടെ അല്പനേരം നിലകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു।
