śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca | hanta te kathayiṣyāmi vicitraṃ yatpurātanam | vṛttaṃ svargasabhāmadhye ṛṣīṇāṃ bhāvitātmanām

ശ്രീ മാർകണ്ഡേയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹന്ത, ഞാൻ നിന്നോട് ഒരു അത്ഭുതകരമായ പുരാതന വൃത്താന്തം പറയുന്നു. സ്വർഗസഭയുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ, നിയന്ത്രിതാത്മാക്കളായ ഋഷിമാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ നടന്ന സംഭവമത് കേൾക്കുക।
