श्रीमार्कण्डेय उवाच । तत्रैव तु भवेदन्यदादित्यस्य महात्मनः । कीर्तयामि नरश्रेष्ठ यदि ते श्रवणे मतिः
śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca | tatraiva tu bhavedanyadādityasya mahātmanaḥ | kīrtayāmi naraśreṣṭha yadi te śravaṇe matiḥ
ശ്രീ മാർക്കണ്ഡേയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ നരശ്രേഷ്ഠാ! അതേ പ്രദേശത്തുതന്നെ മഹാത്മാവായ ആദിത്യൻ (സൂര്യൻ) സംബന്ധിച്ച മറ്റൊരു പുണ്യവൃത്താന്തമുണ്ട്. നിന്റെ മനസ്സ് ശ്രവണത്തിലേക്ക് ചായുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ അത് കീർത്തിക്കും.
