अस्ति घोरो महावीर्यो दानवो बलदर्पितः । बाणो नामेति विख्यातो यस्य तत्त्रिपुरं महत्
asti ghoro mahāvīryo dānavo baladarpitaḥ | bāṇo nāmeti vikhyāto yasya tattripuraṃ mahat
ഭയങ്കരനും മഹാവീര്യവാനുമായ ഒരു ദാനവൻ ഉണ്ട്; തന്റെ ബലഗർവത്തിൽ മദിച്ചവൻ. അവൻ ‘ബാണൻ’ എന്ന പേരിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധൻ; അവനുടേതാണ് ആ മഹത്തായ നഗരം ‘ത്രിപുരം’।
