nārada uvāca | caitre māse tu yā nārī kuryādvratamanuttamam | tasya vratasya cānyāni kalāṃ nārhanti ṣoḍaśīm
Nārada
Tirtha: Caitra-māsa strī-vrata (within Revā Khaṇḍa)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Implied interlocutor within Revā Khaṇḍa narrative (likely the Queen continuing)
Scene: Sage Nārada speaks authoritatively, describing a Caitra-month women’s vow; women devotees are shown performing vrata—fasting, lamp-lighting, offering flowers—near a river or temple courtyard.
Certain time-bound vows (especially in Caitra) are exalted as exceptionally powerful when performed with sincerity.
The verse is framed within Revā-khaṇḍa instruction; it highlights a month-based vrata rather than a specific pilgrimage site.
A woman is enjoined to perform an ‘anuttama’ vrata in the month of Caitra.
