पतिवत्नी पतत्येव विधवा सर्वमाचरेत् । सभर्तृकाशके पत्यौ सर्वं कुर्यादनुज्ञया
pativatnī patatyeva vidhavā sarvamācaret | sabhartṛkāśake patyau sarvaṃ kuryādanujñayā
പതിവ്രതയായ സ്ത്രീ സ്വതന്ത്രമായി പ്രവർത്തിച്ചാൽ ദോഷത്തിൽ പതിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാൽ വിധവയ്ക്ക് എല്ലാ അനുഷ്ഠാനങ്ങളും ചെയ്യാം. ഭർത്താവ് ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവന്റെ അനുവാദത്തോടെയേ എല്ലാം ചെയ്യാവൂ.
