इति लज्जान्वितो विप्रः काले न महता नृप । चिन्तामवाप महतीमगतिज्ञो हि पावने
iti lajjānvito vipraḥ kāle na mahatā nṛpa | cintāmavāpa mahatīmagatijño hi pāvane
ഇങ്ങനെ ലജ്ജയിൽ മുങ്ങിയ ആ ബ്രാഹ്മണൻ, ഹേ രാജാവേ, ദീർഘകാലത്തിനു ശേഷം മഹാ ആശങ്കയിൽ വീണു; കാരണം ശുദ്ധി-പ്രായശ്ചിത്തത്തിൽ അവന് യാതൊരു ആശ്രയമാർഗവും അറിയില്ലായിരുന്നു।
