നദീതീരത്ത് വസിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് അഗ്നി മഹത്തായ തപസ്സിൽ അഭയം പ്രാപിച്ചു. ജിതാത്മാവായി, പൂർണ്ണ സമാഹിതനായി അദ്ദേഹം രുദ്രനെ ആരാധിച്ചു.
