श्रीमार्कण्डेय उवाच । अथान्यत्सम्प्रवक्ष्यामि देवस्य चरितं महत् । श्रुतमात्रेण येनाशु सर्वपापैः प्रमुच्यते
śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca | athānyatsampravakṣyāmi devasya caritaṃ mahat | śrutamātreṇa yenāśu sarvapāpaiḥ pramucyate
ശ്രീ മാർക്കണ്ഡേയൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു—ഇപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ ദേവന്റെ മറ്റൊരു മഹത്തായ ചരിതം പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു; അത് കേൾക്കുന്നതുമാത്രം കൊണ്ടു മനുഷ്യൻ शीഘ്രം സർവപാപങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നു വിമുക്തനാകും.
