श्रीमार्कण्डेय उवाच । तदाप्रभृति तत्तीर्थं ख्यातिं प्राप्तं पितामहात् । सर्वपापहरं पुण्यं सर्वतीर्थेष्वनुत्तमम्
śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca | tadāprabhṛti tattīrthaṃ khyātiṃ prāptaṃ pitāmahāt | sarvapāpaharaṃ puṇyaṃ sarvatīrtheṣvanuttamam
ശ്രീ മാർകണ്ഡേയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—അന്നുമുതൽ പിതാമഹൻ (ബ്രഹ്മാവ്) മുഖേന ആ തീർത്ഥം പ്രസിദ്ധി നേടി. അത് പുണ്യമയം, സർവ്വപാപഹരം, എല്ലാ തീർത്ഥങ്ങളിലും അനുത്തമം.
