Narrator (contextually: Śrī Markaṇḍeya)
Scene: The sage’s face softens; he grants forgiveness. The king, relieved, orders attendants to carefully bring the sage down from an elevated or dangerous position.
When sincere repentance is met with a saint’s grace, conflict ends and restoration becomes possible.
The Revā Khaṇḍa’s sanctified setting frames the event; this verse emphasizes forgiveness rather than a named pilgrimage spot.
No formal rite; the key act is receiving prasāda (forgiveness/favor) and then relieving the ascetic’s ordeal.
