मार्कण्डेय उवाच । इदमाश्चर्यभूतं हि गौर्या पृष्टस्त्रियम्बकः । तत्तेऽहं सम्प्रवक्ष्यामि पृच्छते निपुणाय वै
mārkaṇḍeya uvāca | idamāścaryabhūtaṃ hi gauryā pṛṣṭastriyambakaḥ | tatte'haṃ sampravakṣyāmi pṛcchate nipuṇāya vai
മാർക്കണ്ഡേയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഈ അത്ഭുതകരമായ കാര്യം ഒരിക്കൽ ഗൗരീ ത്ര്യംബകൻ (ശിവൻ)നോട് ചോദിച്ചതാണ്. നീ വിവേകത്തോടെ ചോദിക്കുന്നതിനാൽ ഞാൻ ഇത് നിനക്കു പൂർണ്ണമായി വിശദീകരിക്കുന്നു.
