ऋषीणां वचनं श्रुत्वा शाण्डिली दुःखिताब्रवीत् । उदितेऽर्के तु मे भर्ता मृत्युं यास्यति भो द्विजाः
ṛṣīṇāṃ vacanaṃ śrutvā śāṇḍilī duḥkhitābravīt | udite'rke tu me bhartā mṛtyuṃ yāsyati bho dvijāḥ
ഋഷികളുടെ വചനം കേട്ട് ശാണ്ഡിലി ദുഃഖത്തോടെ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ ദ്വിജന്മാരേ! സൂര്യൻ ഉദിച്ചാൽ എന്റെ ഭർത്താവ് നിശ്ചയമായി മരണത്തിലേക്ക് പോകും.
