पर्यटसे किमर्थं त्वं निशीये वहनं नु किम् । क्षिप्तं तु झोलिकाभारं किंवागमनकारणम् । व्यथामुत्पाद्य ऋषये दुःखाद्दुःखविलासिनि
paryaṭase kimarthaṃ tvaṃ niśīye vahanaṃ nu kim | kṣiptaṃ tu jholikābhāraṃ kiṃvāgamanakāraṇam | vyathāmutpādya ṛṣaye duḥkhādduḥkhavilāsini
നീ രാത്രിയിൽ എന്തിനാണ് അലഞ്ഞുതിരിയുന്നത്? നീ എന്താണ് വഹിക്കുന്നത്? നിന്റെ ഝോളിയുടെ ഭാരം എന്തിന് താഴെ ഇട്ടു? ഇവിടെ വരാനുള്ള കാരണം എന്ത്—ഒരു ഋഷിക്ക് വ്യഥ ഉണ്ടാക്കി, ഹേ ദുഃഖത്തിന്മേൽ ദുഃഖത്തിൽ കളിക്കുന്നവളേ!
