तथेति ते प्रतिज्ञाय नारदाद्या अदर्शनम् । गतेषु विप्रमुख्येषु शाण्डिली च तपोधना
tatheti te pratijñāya nāradādyā adarśanam | gateṣu vipramukhyeṣu śāṇḍilī ca tapodhanā
“അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ,” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവർ പ്രതിജ്ഞ ചെയ്തു; തുടർന്ന് നാരദാദികൾ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ നിന്നു അദൃശ്യമാവുകയും ചെയ്തു. ആ ശ്രേഷ്ഠ ബ്രാഹ്മണർ പോയശേഷം തപോധനയായ ശാണ്ഡിലി അവിടെ തന്നെ നിന്നു.
