ऋषय ऊचुः । पूर्वजन्मनि विप्रेन्द्र किं त्वया दुष्कृतं कृतम् । येन कष्टमिदं प्राप्तं सन्धानं शूलगर्हितम्

ṛṣaya ūcuḥ | pūrvajanmani viprendra kiṃ tvayā duṣkṛtaṃ kṛtam | yena kaṣṭamidaṃ prāptaṃ sandhānaṃ śūlagarhitam

ഋഷികൾ പറഞ്ഞു: ഹേ വിപ്രേന്ദ്രാ, പൂർവ്വജന്മത്തിൽ അങ്ങ് എന്ത് പാപമാണ് ചെയ്തത്? ഏതു കർമ്മഫലമായാണ് അങ്ങേക്ക് ശൂലത്തിൽ കയറേണ്ടിവന്ന ഈ കഷ്ടപ്പാട് വന്നുചേർന്നത്?
