श्रीदेव्युवाच । नाहं देव जगच्चैतत्संहरामि महाद्युते । अम्बा भूत्वा विचेष्टं न भक्षयामि भृशातुरम्

ശ്രീദേവി പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ മഹാദ്യുതിയുള്ള ദേവാ! ഞാൻ ഈ ജഗത്തിനെ സംഹരിക്കുന്നില്ല. അമ്മയായിട്ട് ഞാൻ അസഹായനും അത്യന്തം പീഡിതനുമായവനെ ഭക്ഷിക്കാനാവില്ല।
