ṛṣibhirdaśakoṭibhirnarmadātīravāsibhiḥ | vibhakteyaṃ vibhaktāṅgī narmadā śarmadā nṛṇām

നർമദാതീരവാസികളായ ദശകോടി ഋഷികൾ ഈ വിഭക്താംഗിനിയായ നർമദയെ വിഭജിച്ചു; നർമദ മനുഷ്യർക്കു ക്ഷേമം നൽകുന്നവളാണ്.
