Sūta (Lomaharṣaṇa) narrating to the sages (contextual deduction)
Tirtha: Revā (Narmadā) tirtha milieu
Type: kshetra
Scene: Two figures contrasted on the riverbank: one surrounded by stacks of palm-leaf texts chanting expansively; another sits in stillness with a radiant sun-disc (Savitṛ) above, quietly repeating Gāyatrī—his aura brighter, symbolizing superior fruit.
Discipline and concentrated Gāyatrī-japa are portrayed as especially potent—surpassing even extensive rote recitation without the same inner restraint.
The Revā/Narmadā milieu is the backdrop, where such japa is recommended for heightened merit.
Regular Gāyatrī-japa performed with saṃyama (self-restraint) and mental collectedness.
