The verse presents a devotional darśana of Pati (Śiva) with Śakti (the Devī), enthroned in divine splendor—teaching that the Supreme is approachable in a gracious, saguna form, and that contemplating this united presence purifies the mind and strengthens bhakti leading toward moksha.
The imagery supports saguna upāsanā—visualizing and honoring Śiva with the Devī—while remaining consistent with Liṅga worship, where the Liṅga signifies the same Supreme Lord beyond form; both modes aim at single-pointed devotion and inner purification.
A simple practice is dhyāna with japa: mentally envision Śiva seated with the Devī in radiant purity while repeating the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” optionally accompanied by Tripuṇḍra bhasma and rudrākṣa as aids to steadiness and reverence.
