Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadyojāta
Significance: Establishes the principle of śuddhi (ritual purity and readiness) as a prerequisite for fruitful Śiva-upāsanā; supports the pilgrim’s discipline of preparing a proper maṇḍapa/vedikā before darśana and abhiṣeka.
Offering: pushpa
It emphasizes that devotion to Pati (Shiva) is supported by outer purity and careful preparation—symbols of inner order, reverence, and one-pointed bhakti that steadies the mind for grace.
The verse describes the practical setting for Saguna worship—arranging a sanctified space and pure offerings—through which the devotee approaches Shiva in a form accessible to ritual, leading the mind toward the higher, formless truth.
Prepare a clean worship area with kuśa and flowers, keep water and simple sāttvika offerings (fruits/roots), and maintain a steady, reverent focus—supporting japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) during puja.
