Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Adhivāsa and consecratory residence of the liṅga is framed as generating sarva-maṅgala (all-auspiciousness) and eligibility for full pratiṣṭhā-phala.
Role: nurturing
It teaches that the Liṅga is a sacred, auspicious support for approaching Pati (Śiva); by giving it a sanctified “residence” (adhivāsa) even for a short period, the devotee aligns body, space, and mind toward purity and grace, loosening pāśa (bondage) through disciplined devotion.
The verse prescribes a formal ritual step—adhivāsa—before or as part of consecration, emphasizing Saguna worship where Śiva is approached through the Liṅga as a tangible, ritually awakened presence in a prepared sacred space.
Perform adhivāsa of the Liṅga for 1, 3, or 5 nights—maintaining purity, regular pūjā, and remembrance of Śiva (often with pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) during the period of sanctified residence.
