Cosmic Event: avatāra-cycle (tenfold manifestation) triggered by a ṛṣi-śāpa as narrative device
It frames divine manifestation as governed by dharma and cosmic causality: even great deities appear in particular forms due to karmic-narrative instruments (like a sage’s curse), while the Supreme (Pati) remains the ultimate regulator beyond all bonds.
By showing that even Viṣṇu’s forms arise within the cosmic order, the text implicitly points seekers to the Shaiva focus on the Linga as the stable Saguna support for meditation—where the devotee turns from changing manifestations to the Lord who grants liberation.
Contemplate the Lord’s governance of manifestation and causality while repeating the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”; this steadies the mind beyond fear of worldly change and aligns devotion toward moksha.
