Tattva Level: pasha
Role: liberating
It emphasizes that liberation-oriented practice must be complete and methodical: the prescribed disciplines are meant to purify the three Shaiva Siddhanta fundamentals—Pati (Śiva), Paśu (the bound soul), and Pāśa (bondage)—so the soul becomes fit for Śiva’s grace.
The verse supports structured worship (vidhi) as a means of inner cleansing; Linga/Saguna worship is not merely external devotion but a disciplined process that removes impurities and bonds (pāśa), aligning the paśu toward Pati (Śiva).
It advises following the full prescribed procedure (vidhi) without omission—typically including mantra-japa (e.g., Panchakshara), purity disciplines, and contemplative purification steps—aimed at cleansing bondage and stabilizing awareness in Śiva.
