Role: nurturing
Offering: naivedya
It teaches that devotion must be joined with disciplined Śaiva ritual order—entering the sacred space (maṇḍala) with purity and offering food prepared correctly, turning ordinary nourishment into consecrated service to Pati (Śiva).
The maṇḍala and prescribed naivedya are elements of Saguna worship where the devotee approaches Śiva as the accessible Lord who receives offerings; such ordered pūjā purifies the paśu (individual soul) and strengthens bhakti toward the Linga as Śiva’s gracious presence.
Perform the pūjā “as previously taught,” then offer properly cooked pāyasa as naivedya; while offering, maintain one-pointed remembrance of Śiva and recite Śaiva mantras (commonly the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), even though this verse specifically emphasizes the offering and correct procedure.
