Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
It points to the liberated Shaiva state where the soul, freed from pāśa (bondage) by Shiva’s grace, transcends karmic obligation—no longer bound by do’s and don’ts—resting in Shiva-like freedom.
Linga-worship and Saguna devotion are powerful means (upāya) while one is under discipline; this verse describes the fruit—when devotion ripens into Shiva-realization, the devotee is no longer constrained by external injunctions, having attained inner union with the Lord.
The verse emphasizes the goal beyond practice, but the implied path is steady Shiva-bhakti with japa (especially the Panchakshara), meditation, and Shaiva observances like bhasma (Tripuṇḍra) and Rudraksha until grace matures into liberation.
