gacchataṃ nirbhayannityaṃ svasthānaśca madājñayā | sukhapradātāhaṃ vai vāmviśeṣātprekṣakassadā
Lord Shiva (Rudra)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Paśupatinātha
Significance: Emphasizes Śiva as protector-overseer (preक्षक) and sukha-pradātā: the Lord’s ongoing guardianship sustains devas and, by extension, bound souls—anugraha operating as fearlessness (abhaya) and welfare.
Role: nurturing
It emphasizes śaraṇāgati (surrender): by accepting Shiva’s command, the devotee becomes nirbhaya (fearless), protected by the Lord who grants sukha and inner stability on the path toward liberation.
The verse reflects Saguna Shiva’s grace—Shiva as the personal Lord who actively guides, protects, and bestows well-being upon devotees who worship Him (including through Linga-upāsanā) with trust and obedience.
Practice daily remembrance of Shiva with the Panchakshara mantra (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and cultivate fearlessness through surrender; offer simple Linga worship with purity and steadiness, trusting in Shiva’s protective oversight.
