The verse praises śivaikya—inner union with Shiva—as the supreme spiritual attainment, matured by tapas and protected from the great hindrances of desire and anger that disturb steady realization.
Linga/Saguna worship disciplines the mind and purifies the devotee; when devotion and restraint mature, the worshipper moves toward the inner fruit described here—steadfast Shiva-consciousness (śivaikya).
Practice tapas as regulated sadhana—daily japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), along with disciplined conduct that specifically counters kāma and krodha, so the mind becomes a fit ‘vessel’ for Shiva-realization.
