Viṣṇu’s Hymn and the Petition for Śiva–Satī’s Protection
tato devagaṇāssarve munayaścākhilāstathā | tuṣṭuvuśśaṃkaraṃ tatra prajvalaṃtaṃ bhayāturāḥ

It shows that when Śiva’s fierce tejas appears, even devas and sages respond by taking refuge in bhakti (stuti). In Shaiva thought, fear dissolves when one turns to Pati (Śiva) as the supreme protector and inner ruler.
The verse emphasizes Saguna Śiva—Śaṅkara manifesting as visible, blazing power. Such manifestations are approached through praise, surrender, and reverence, which also underlies Liṅga-worship where the devotee honors Śiva’s accessible form while recognizing His transcendent nature.
Offer stuti with steady breath and remembrance of Śiva’s name—especially japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya). A simple takeaway is to respond to inner agitation (bhaya) by chanting and mentally bowing to Śaṅkara’s protecting presence.
