പവമാന സോമൻ (ഇന്ദു) ശുദ്ധീകരകനും രക്ഷകനുമായി ആഹ്വാനിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു: ഗോവുകളിലൂടെ (ഗോഷു—ചാലനികൾ/ധാരകൾ) ശോധിതനായി ശുചിവർണ്ണമായ ദീപ്തി ധരിച്ച്, സഖ്യത്തിൽ സ്ഥിരമായ മിത്രനായി നിലകൊള്ളട്ടെ. യജ്ഞത്തെ ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്തി ധനം—പശു, അശ്വം, സന്തതി, കർമസിദ്ധി—നൽകട്ടെ. ദേവരഹിതരായ (അദേവ) തടസ്സക്കാരെയും ഭോജകരായ അത്രിണരെയും അകറ്റി, ഇരട്ട ദോഷം (ദ്വയം)യും യജ്ഞവിഘ്നങ്ങളും നീക്കട്ടെ; ഇന്ദ്രന്റെ ഹരികളുടെ അധിപതിയായി പരോക്ഷമായി സഹായകനായിരിക്കട്ടെ.
