Sukta 9.86
इषमूर्जं पवमानाभ्यर्षसि श्येनो न वंसु कलशेषु सीदसि । इन्द्राय मद्वा मद्यो मदः सुतो दिवो विष्टम्भ उपमो विचक्षणः ॥
íṣam ū́rjaṃ pavamānā́bhy arṣasi śyénō ná vaṃsú kalaśéṣu sīdasi | índrāya mádvā mádyo mádaḥ sutó divó viṣṭámbha upamó vi-cakṣáṇaḥ ||
ആത്മാവിന്റെ ആഹാരവും ഊർജവും കൊണ്ടുവന്ന്, ഹേ പവമാന, നീ ഒഴുകി മുന്നേറുന്നു; ശ്യേന (പരുന്ത്) തന്റെ വസു (താമസം)വിലേക്കെന്നപോലെ, നീ കലശങ്ങളിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു. പിഴിഞ്ഞെടുത്തവനായി, നീ ഇന്ദ്രനു മദ—മത്താനന്ദം—ആകുന്നു; നീ ദ്യൗവിന്റെ താങ്ങ്, പരമനും വിശാലദർശിയും ആകുന്നു.
