Sukta 8.86
ऋतेन देवः सविता शमायत ऋतस्य शृङ्गमुर्विया वि पप्रथे । ऋतं सासाह महि चित्पृतन्यतो मा नो वि यौष्टं सख्या मुमोचतम् ॥
ṛtena devaḥ savitā śamāyate ṛtasya śṛṅgam urviyā vi paprathe | ṛtaṃ sasāha mahi cit pṛtanyato mā no vi yauṣṭaṃ sakhyā mumocatam ||
ഋതംകൊണ്ട് ദേവൻ സവിതൃ ശാന്തനായി ശമം വരുത്തുന്നു; ഋതത്തിന്റെ ശൃംഗം അവൻ വിശാലതയിൽ വ്യാപകമായി പരത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു. യുദ്ധത്തിൽ പോരാടുന്ന മഹാബലവാന്മാർക്കെതിരെയും അവൻ ഞങ്ങൾക്കായി ഋതത്തെ ജയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു—അവൻ നമ്മുടെ സഖ്യത ശിഥിലമാക്കരുതേ; കൂട്ടുകാരിത്തത്തിന്റെ ബന്ധത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ഞങ്ങളെ വിട്ടയക്കരുതേ.
