Sukta 8.86
उत त्यं वीरं धनसामृजीषिणं दूरे चित्सन्तमवसे हवामहे । यस्य स्वादिष्ठा सुमतिः पितुर्यथा मा नो वि यौष्टं सख्या मुमोचतम् ॥
uta tyaṃ vīraṃ dhana-sām ṛjīṣiṇaṃ dūre cit santam avase havāmahe | yasya svādiṣṭhā su-matiḥ pitur yathā mā no vi yauṣṭaṃ sakhyā mumocatam ||
അതിനൊപ്പം ആ വീരനെ—ധനസമൂഹങ്ങളുടെ അധിപൻ, നേരെ ഓടിക്കുന്നവൻ—അവൻ ദൂരെയായിരുന്നാലും സഹായത്തിനായി ഞങ്ങൾ വിളിക്കുന്നു. ആരുടെ അതിമധുരമായ സുമതി പിതാവിനേതുപോലെയോ—അവൻ നമ്മുടെ സഖ്യത പിരിയിക്കരുതേ; കൂട്ടുകാരിത്തത്തിന്റെ ബന്ധത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ഞങ്ങളെ വിട്ടയക്കരുതേ.
