त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम् । उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान्मृत्योर्मुक्षीय मामृतात् ॥
Transliteration
tryámbakaṃ yajāmahe sugándhiṃ puṣṭivárdhanam | urvārukám iva bándhanān mṛtyór mukṣīya mā́mṛtāt ||
Translation
ത്ര്യംബകനെ ഞങ്ങൾ യജിക്കുന്നു—സുഗന്ധിമാൻ, പുഷ്ടി വർധിപ്പിക്കുന്നവൻ. പാകമായ ഉർവാരുകം (വെള്ളരിക്ക/കുമ്പള) തണ്ടിൽ നിന്നു വിടുന്നതുപോലെ, മരണബന്ധനത്തിൽ നിന്നു എന്നെ മോചിപ്പിക്കേണമേ; എന്നാൽ അമൃതത്വത്തിൽ നിന്നല്ല.
