Sukta 7.3
प्रोथदश्वो न यवसेऽविष्यन्यदा महः संवरणाद्व्यस्थात् । आदस्य वातो अनु वाति शोचिरध स्म ते व्रजनं कृष्णमस्ति ॥
prothád aśvó na yávase’viṣyán yadā máhaḥ saṃváraṇād vyásthāt | ā́d asya vā́to ánu vāti śocír ádha sma te vrájanam kṛ́ṣṇam asti ||
മേവു തേടുന്ന കുതിരപോലെ അവൻ പൊങ്ങി മുന്നോട്ട് പായുന്നു, മഹത്തായ ആവരണത്തിൽ നിന്ന് പുറത്തായി നിലകൊണ്ടപ്പോൾ. അപ്പോൾ കാറ്റ് അവന്റെ ജ്വാലയെ അനുഗമിച്ച് വീശുന്നു; അതിനാൽ തന്നെ നിന്റെ സഞ്ചാരപഥം കറുത്തുപോകുന്നു—അഗ്നി പോയിടത്ത് അന്ധകാരം ദഹിച്ച് വഴിച്ചിഹ്നമായി ശേഷിക്കുന്നു.
