स्वादुषंसदः पितरो वयोधाः कृच्छ्रेश्रितः शक्तीवन्तो गभीराः । चित्रसेना इषुबला अमृध्राः सतोवीरा उरवो व्रातसाहाः ॥
svā́du-saṃsádaḥ pitáro vayaḥ-dhā́ḥ kṛ́cchra-śritáḥ śaktī́vanto gabhīrā́ḥ | citrá-senā iṣú-balā amṛ́dhrāḥ sató-vīrā urávo vrāta-sāhā́ḥ ||
ഹേ പിതരേ, സ്വാദു-സംസദ് (മധുരസഭ) ഉള്ളവരേ, വയോധാ (ജീവവൃദ്ധിയെ ധാരിക്കുന്നവർ), കൃച്ഛ്രത്തിൽ ആശ്രിതരായി നിലകൊള്ളുന്ന—ഗംഭീരരും ശക്തിവാന്മാരും! ചിത്രസേന (വിവിധ സൈന്യങ്ങളുള്ളവർ), ഇഷുബല (അമ്പുബലത്തിൽ പ്രബല), അമൃധ്ര (വഞ്ചനയില്ലാത്ത) — സതോവീര (സത്യവീര), ഉറവ (വിശാലസ്വഭാവ), വ്രാതസാഹ (വ്രാതങ്ങളുടെ വലയത്തെ ജയിക്കുന്നവർ) ആകുന്നു.
