तत्सवितुर्वृणीमहे वयं देवस्य भोजनम् । श्रेष्ठं सर्वधातमं तुरं भगस्य धीमहि ॥

tát savitúrvṛṇīmahe vayáṃ devásya bhójanam | śréṣṭhaṃ sarvadhā́tamaṃ túraṃ bhágasya dhīmahi ||

സവിതൃവിൽ നിന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ അതിനെ—ദേവന്റെ ഭോജന (ഭോജന), പോഷകാനുഭവം—ഞങ്ങള്ക്കായി തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നു. ശ്രേഷ്ഠം, സർവധാതമ (എല്ലാം ധരിക്കുന്ന), ത്വരിതവും ശക്തിമയവും ആയ ഭഗന്റെ പൂർണ്ണത—അതിൽ ഞങ്ങൾ ചിന്തയെ സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നു.
