Sukta 5.34
न पञ्चभिर्दशभिर्वष्ट्यारभं नासुन्वता सचते पुष्यता चन । जिनाति वेदमुया हन्ति वा धुनिरा देवयुं भजति गोमति व्रजे ॥
ná pañcábhīr daśábhīr vaṣṭy ārabháṃ nā́sūnvatā sacate púṣyatā caná | jinā́ti védam uyā́ hánti vā dhúnir ā́ devayúṃ bhajati gómati vrajé ||
അഞ്ചുകൊണ്ടോ പത്തുകൊണ്ടോ വെറും പിടിത്തം മാത്രം അവൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ല; അസുന്വത് (സോമം പിഴിയാത്തവൻ)നോടു അവൻ ചേർന്നുനിൽക്കുകയില്ല—പുറമേ പുഷ്ടനായവനോടുപോലും അല്ല. അവൻ ജ്ഞാനത്താൽ ജയിക്കുന്നു—അല്ലെങ്കിൽ അതേ ധുനി (ഓടിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ബലം)കൊണ്ട് അവൻ അടിച്ചുതകർക്കുന്നു; ദേവയു (ദേവനെ തേടുന്നവൻ)നു വ്രജത്തിൽ ഗോമതി പ്രകാശമുള്ള കന്നുകാലിക്കൂട്ടങ്ങളെ അവൻ വിഭജിച്ചു നൽകുന്നു.
