Sukta 2.24
स संनयः स विनयः पुरोहितः स सुष्टुतः स युधि ब्रह्मणस्पतिः । चाक्ष्मो यद्वाजं भरते मती धनादित्सूर्यस्तपति तप्यतुर्वृथा ॥
sá saṃnáyaḥ sá vináyaḥ puróhitaḥ sá suṣṭútaḥ sá yudhí bráhmaṇas pátiḥ | cākṣmó yád vā́jaṃ bhárate matī́ dhánād ít sū́ryas tapati tapyátur vṛ́thā ||
അവൻ തന്നെയാണ് നേതാവ്, അവൻ തന്നെയാണ് വിവേകമുള്ള മാർഗ്ഗദർശകൻ, പുരോഹിതൻ—മുന്നിൽ സ്ഥാപിതൻ; അവൻ തന്നെയാണ് സുഷ്ടുതൻ—സുപ്രശംസിതൻ; യുദ്ധത്തിൽ അവൻ തന്നെയാണ് ബ്രഹ്മണസ്പതി. അവൻ പ്രചോദിതമായ മതി കൊണ്ടു വാജം—ബലത്തിന്റെ പൂർണ്ണത—ധനമായി കൊണ്ടുവരുമ്പോൾ, ആ ലാഭത്തിനെതിരെ സൂര്യന്റെ ദഹനവും വ്യർത്ഥമായി കത്തുന്നു.
