प्र वः सतां ज्येष्ठतमाय सुष्टुतिमग्नाविव समिधाने हविर्भरे । इन्द्रमजुर्यं जरयन्तमुक्षितं सनाद्युवानमवसे हवामहे ॥

prá vaḥ satā́ṃ jyéṣṭhatamāya suṣṭutím agnā́v iva samidhāné havírbhare | índram ajúryaṃ járayantam ukṣitáṃ sanā́d yúvānam aváse havāmahe ||

ഹേ ഇന്ദ്രാ—സത്യവാന്മാരിൽ ഏറ്റവും ജ്യേഷ്ഠൻ—നിനക്കായി ഞാൻ ഉത്തമമായ സ്തുതി മുന്നോട്ടു കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു; ജ്വലിച്ച അഗ്നിയിൽ സമിധയോടെ ഹവി അർപ്പിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ. അജരൻ, സദാ നവയൗവനൻ, ശക്തിയാൽ സമൃദ്ധൻ, പുരാതനനുമായിട്ടും യുവാവുമായ ഇന്ദ്രനെ സഹായത്തിനും രക്ഷയ്ക്കുമായി ഞങ്ങൾ ആഹ്വാനം ചെയ്യുന്നു.
