सोमं मन्यते पपिवान्यत्सम्पिंषन्त्योषधिम् । सोमं यं ब्रह्माणो विदुर्न तस्याश्नाति कश्चन ॥
Transliteration
sómaṁ manyate papivā́n yát sampiṁṣántyoṣádhim | sómaṁ yáṁ brahmā́ṇo vidúr ná tásyāśnāti káś caná ||
Translation
അവർ ഔഷധിയെ ചതയ്ക്കുമ്പോൾ മനുഷ്യൻ ‘ഞാൻ സോമം കുടിച്ചു’ എന്നു കരുതുന്നു. എന്നാൽ വാക്കിന്റെ ദർശികളായ ബ്രഹ്മാണർ അറിയുന്ന ആ സോമം ആരും ഭുജിക്കുന്നില്ല; ബാഹ്യകർമ്മം കൊണ്ട് അത് പിടിക്കപ്പെടുകയില്ല, കാരണം അത് അന്തർജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെ വിഷയമാണ്.
