उत कण्वं नृषदः पुत्रमाहुरुत श्यावो धनमादत्त वाजी । प्र कृष्णाय रुशदपिन्वतोधॠतमत्र नकिरस्मा अपीपेत् ॥

utá káṇvaṃ nṛ-sádaḥ putrám āhuḥ utá śyā́vo dhánam ā́datta vājī́ | prá kṛṣṇā́ya rúśad apinvátodhá ṛtám atra nákir asmai apīpet ||

അവർ കണ്വനെ ‘നൃഷദ്’—മനുഷ്യരിടയിൽ ആസനം വഹിക്കുന്ന ശക്തികളുടെ പുത്രനെന്ന് വിളിക്കുന്നു; ശ്യാവൻ, വാജി (രഥവീരൻ), ധനം കൈവശമാക്കി. കൃഷ്ണ (അന്ധകാരം/കറുപ്പ്) നുവേണ്ടി രുശദ് (പ്രകാശമുള്ളവൻ) അകിടിനെ മുന്നോട്ടൊഴുകുംവിധം നിറച്ചു; ഇവിടെ അവനുവേണ്ടി ഋതത്തെ ആരും കുറച്ചിട്ടില്ല—അതിന്റെ സത്യവർധനം അക്ഷുണ്ണമായി നിലനിൽക്കുന്നു.
