Tārkṣya
ഈ ചെറുതായ രണ്ട് ഋക്കുകളുള്ള സ്തോത്രം, വേഗത്തിൽ സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്ന ദൈവികമായി പ്രേരിതനായ രക്ഷകനായ താർക്ഷ്യനെ ആഹ്വാനം ചെയ്യുന്നു; യാത്രയുടെയും സംഘർഷത്തിന്റെയും അപകടങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ സുരക്ഷിത ഗമനവും വിജയവും അവൻ ഉറപ്പാക്കുന്നു. കവി ക്ഷേമം (സ്വസ്തി) അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു; അഭിലഷിക്കുന്ന സഹായത്തെ ഇന്ദ്രന്റെ ദാനത്തോടും വരവിലും പോക്കിലും ഹാനിയില്ലാതെ സുരക്ഷിതമായി കടത്തിവിടുന്ന ഒരു തോണിയോടും ഉപമിക്കുന്നു.

त्यमू षु वाजिनं देवजूतं सहावानं तरुतारं रथानाम् । अरिष्टनेमिं पृतनाजमाशुं स्वस्तये तार्क्ष्यमिहा हुवेम ॥
ദേവജൂതനായ, വാജിയായ (ശക്തിമാൻ) സമൃദ്ധി-വാഹകനായ, ജയശാലിയായ—രഥങ്ങളുടെ പാച്ചിലിൽ തടസ്സങ്ങളെ അതിജയിക്കുന്നവൻ; അഖണ്ഡചക്രനേമിയുള്ള, യുദ്ധത്തിൽ വേഗവിജയിയായ—ആ താർക്ഷ്യനെ ഇവിടെ സ്വസ്തിക്കും സുഖഗമനത്തിനുമായി ഞങ്ങൾ ആഹ്വാനം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

इन्द्रस्येव रातिमाजोहुवानाः स्वस्तये नावमिवा रुहेम । उर्वी न पृथ्वी बहुले गभीरे मा वामेतौ मा परेतौ रिषाम ॥
ഇന്ദ്രനിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ദാനത്തെപ്പോലെ അതിനെ ആഹ്വാനം ചെയ്ത്, സ്വസ്തിക്കായി ഞങ്ങൾ അതിൽ ഒരു നാവുപോലെ കയറട്ടെ. വിശാലവും—ആഴമുള്ള, പുഷ്ടമായ ഭൂമിപോലെ—ഈ യാത്രയിൽ വരുമ്പോഴും പോകുമ്പോഴും ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് ഹാനി സംഭവിക്കാതിരിക്കട്ടെ.
