कामस्तदग्रे समवर्तताधि मनसो रेतः प्रथमं यदासीत् । सतो बन्धुमसति निरविन्दन्हृदि प्रतीष्या कवयो मनीषा ॥
Transliteration
kā́mas tád ágre sám avartatā́dhi mánaso rétaḥ prathamáṃ yád āsīt | sató bándhum ásati nír avindan hṛdí pratī́ṣyā kaváyo manīṣā́ ||
Translation
ആദിയിൽ അതിൽ കാമം (ഇച്ഛ) ഉദിച്ചു—മനസ്സിന്റെ ആദ്യ വിത്ത്, രേതഃ. കവികളായ ഋഷികൾ മണീഷാ (അന്തര്ദൃഷ്ടി)കൊണ്ട് ഹൃദയത്തിൽ അന്വേഷിച്ച് അസതിയിൽ സതിന്റെ ബന്ധു (ബന്ധം/ബന്ധുത്വം) കണ്ടെത്തി.
