Sukta 1.24
शुनःशेपो ह्यह्वद्गृभीतस्त्रिष्वादित्यं द्रुपदेषु बद्धः । अवैनं राजा वरुणः ससृज्याद्विद्वाँ अदब्धो वि मुमोक्तु पाशान् ॥
śúnaḥśépo hy áhvād gṛbhītás triṣv ā́dityaṃ dru-padéṣu baddháḥ | ávainaṃ rājā́ váruṇaḥ sasṛjyād vidvā́ṃ adábdho ví mumoktu pā́śān ||
കാരണം, ശുനഃശേപൻ പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടപ്പോൾ ആദിത്യനെ വിളിച്ചു—മൂന്നു സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ ദ്രുപദങ്ങളിൽ ബന്ധിക്കപ്പെട്ടവനായി. രാജാവായ വരുണൻ അവനെ വിട്ടയക്കട്ടെ; സർവ്വജ്ഞൻ, അദബ്ധൻ—അവൻ പാശങ്ങളെ അഴിച്ചു മോചിപ്പിക്കട്ടെ.
