अस्य श्लोको दिवीयते पृथिव्यामत्यो न यंसद्यक्षभृद्विचेताः । मृगाणां न हेतयो यन्ति चेमा बृहस्पतेरहिमायाँ अभि द्यून् ॥
asyá ślóko divī́yate pṛthivyā́m átyo na yaṃsad yákṣa-bhṛ́d ví-cetāḥ | mṛgā́ṇāṃ na hetáyo yánti cemā́ bṛ́haspáter áhi-māyāṃ abhí dyū́n ||
ഈ ശ്ലോകം ദ്യൗവിലും പൃഥ്വിയിലും സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നു; ശക്തി വഹിക്കുന്ന വിവേകി അതിനെ വേഗമുള്ള അശ്വംപോലെ ഓടിക്കുന്നു. അവന്റെ ഈ പ്രഹാരങ്ങൾ കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളുടെ അമ്പുകളെപ്പോലെ പുറപ്പെടുന്നു—സർപ്പത്തിന്റെ മായകൾക്കെതിരേ, ആ വളഞ്ഞ മായയാൽ മേഘാഛന്നമായ ദിനങ്ങൾക്കെതിരേ.
