अपाङ्प्राङेति स्वधया गृभीतोऽमर्त्यो मर्त्येना सयोनिः । ता शश्वन्ता विषूचीना वियन्ता न्यन्यं चिक्युर्न नि चिक्युरन्यम् ॥
apā́ṅ prā́ṅ eti svadháyā gṛbhītó 'mártyo mártyenā sáyoniḥ | tā́ śáśvantā viṣūcī́nā viyántā ny ànyáṁ cikyúr ná ní cikyur anyám ||
പിന്നോട്ടും മുന്നോട്ടും അവൻ പോകുന്നു—സ്വധാ (സ്വ-നിയമം) കൊണ്ട് പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ; അമരൻ, മർത്ത്യനോടൊപ്പം ഒരേ യോനി (ഒരേ ഗർഭം) പങ്കിടുന്നു. ആ രണ്ടും ശാശ്വതങ്ങൾ, വ്യത്യസ്ത ദിശകളിലായി വേർപിരിഞ്ഞ് സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നവ—പരസ്പരം തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിലും, പരമ ‘അന്യ’നെ തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ല.
